A wide variety of Troy area restaurants has been lined up for the 4th annual "A Taste of Troy," a fundraiser for, the Hope 7 Community Center’s food pantry and youth program.
The event is set for 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the Franklin Terrace Ballroom, 126 Campbell Avenue.B-rad’s Bistro & Catering Brunswick BBQ & Brew The Congress Cafe The Cookie Factory The Eatery at Carol’s Place Francesca’s Jack’s Drive-In Muddaddyflats Red Front Restaurant Slidin’ Dirty Spill’n the Beans Coffeehouse & Bistro Sweet Sues Villa Valenti Pub Wandering Dago Food Truck & Catering X’s to O’s Vegan Bakery
In addition to fare from the restaurants, specialty vendors, beverages, raffles and live music will be included. Tickets are in advance, at the door. Tickets are available at Carol's Place, Aurora's Boutique, DeMeo's Discount Wine & Liquor, and at Hope 7, located at 596 Pawling Avenue on Troy's East Side.
Hope 7 is named for its building, the onetime Hope 7 Firehouse. The organization began in 1968 as the East Side Neighborhood Recreation Center Inc. When the firehouse was closed by the city, Hope 7 shared the premises with a branch of the city library. It now is the sole occupant. Hope 7 states its mission "is to provide life essential and enhancing services in a nurturing and non-preferential manner, to promote self-sufficiency, personal growth, and commitment to serving one's community."
