The second annual Pensacola Craft Beer Festival is this weekend at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium. (Dennis Pillion | dpillion@al.com)Just because the sun sets at 5:30 p.m. now doesn't mean you can't have a good time at the beach this weekend. There are a bevy of events along the coast, from the continuation of the Frank Brown Songwriters Festival to the second Pensacola Craft Beer Festival and a strongman competition at The Hangout in Gulf Shores.

Pensacola Craft Beer Festival on the Bay-- Pensacola is hosting the second annual on the grounds of Pensacola Bayfront Stadium, home of the Class AA Pensacola Blue Wahoos. The stadium has won multiple national awards as a great place to watch a ballgame, and it looks like a pretty good spot for a beer festival as well, with plenty of room for a big crowd and views of Pensacola Bay.

In addition to more than 250 varieties of craft beer, the festival also features a muscle car show on the grounds just outside the stadium, and concerts by Parmalee and Little Texas. There is a VIP dinner and fireworks show tonight, but the main event starts at noon Saturday. Tickets are at the door, or for a designated driver ticket. Admission to the concerts is free, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Frank Brown Songwriters Festival winds down -- The will wrap its 11-day run of bringing more than 200 songwriters to 30 different venues throughout Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Perdido Key and Pensacola. Check the for a detailed schedule of who's playing where in the festival's last weekend.

Strongman competitions at The Hangout -- The Hangout, at the foot of Ala. 59 in Gulf Shores, will play host to Saturday, the TOADS Push-Pull Powerlifting Challenge and the Alabama's Strongest Man contest.

The TOADS Push-Pull Powerlifting Challenge will feature competition in the bench press and deadlift. The format of Alabama's Strongest Man will remind spectators of the World's Strongest Man competitions seen on ESPN.The Push-Pull Challenge will start at 8:30 a.m. Alabama's Strongest Man will start at 10 a.m.

Gallery Night in downtown Pensacola -- The last Gallery Night of 2013 is tonight on Palafox Place in downtown Pensacola. Art galleries will stay open late and thousands of spectators will wander the streets, browsing the works of local artists, sampling food and drink from local restaurants and taking in live music performances on the street.
