Troy (1-1) got out to an early lead and never looked back, dominating the LaGrange Panthers, 102-69, earning head coach Phil Cunningham his first win with the program."The first half we did what we were supposed to do," said Cunningham. "We held them to 21 percent shooting, although we gave up too many offensive rebounds, we did what we were supposed to do. In the locker room we told them not to play to the score, we never want them to develop bad habits. We didn't do that."Hunter Williams led all scorers with 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting, setting a new career high. He also added a career-high eight boards and dished out five assists.Antoine Myers chipped in with 20 points of his own, hitting all eight of his field goal attempts. Myers would add four rebounds and four dimes.Josh Warren flirted with a double-double, finishing with eight points and a career-high 11 boards. In all, 10 Trojans got on the scoreboard, with three scoring in double-figures.Troy took a 59-27 lead into the break, sparked by hot shooting from across the board. The Trojans didn't cool off in the second half, finishing the game shooting 54.9 percent (39-of-71) from the field and 40 percent (8-of-20) from range. The Panthers shot 24-of-77 (31.2 %) from the field and 6-of-26 (23.1 %) from distance.The Trojans were dominant inside, outscoring the Panthers 60-28 in the paint. As a team, Troy dished out 18 assists and had five blocks.The Trojans returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Birmingham to take on UAB. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
